This recessed access panel is manufactured with a 5/8" depth pan to receive a layer of drywall for a concealed appearance. Not recommended for walls.  The door as well as the frame is 16 gauge cold rolled steel with a 22 gauge galvanized drywall corner bead.  The panel is phosphate dipped and prime coated.
